We’ve been learning about faithfulness this week and wanted to share some thoughts as it relates to our work. Faithfulness is steady devotion to God and dependable service to others. It is, first, an inward transformation from our growing relationship with Jesus that flows to an outward expression of love and service to those around us.
It can be challenging to balance that kind of devotion to many things. How can we balance faithfulness to God AND to our work (not to mention family, friends, health, etc. etc.)?
The good news is that Scripture says it starts small. In Luke 16:10, scripture says:
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.”
Faithfulness begins with the smallest steps. This can look like slowing down and saying a quick prayer over our clients before calls, responding to messages promptly, and paying our quarterly taxes on time.
Those small acts of obedience and responsibility are what build a faithful heart. And amazingly, it's that transformed heart that multiplies to even greater faithfulness to God and to those around us.
And for the best example of faithfulness? Look to Jesus, who promises:
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” — Hebrews 13:5
We hope you’re challenged and encouraged by the dynamic power that small, daily acts of faithfulness can have, and that you keep us accountable!
