We’ve been running on empty.

If you’ve ever driven on an empty tank, you know the anxious feeling of watching the mileage get lower and lower wondering if you’ll make it to your destination.

That’s how we’ve been feeling lately; exhausted and overstimulated.
In the midst of this feeling, we’ve found ourselves asking where we run when our tanks run dangerously close to E. What do we turn to in order to be filled up again?

Culture tells us we can fix the overstimulation with the right amount of “you” time or self care. And while those things aren’t inherently bad, scripture tells us exactly where we will find true, deep soul satisfaction.
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (NLT)

We've been called to bring our tired minds and hearts to Jesus. For us, that looks like adding a scheduled hour of prayer together every week. We are running to the one who satisfies our souls together.

And we’ve found that the more we intercede for others the less exhausted we feel about our daily tasks. While we’d rather be reading, checking things off the to-do list, or resting in other ways, we’ve found our reset in time with the Lord.

How can we be praying for you? We highly encourage you to email info@parable-creative.com with prayer requests. They will be kept between us and God, and we’ll be offering these prayers up weekly.

Be blessed.
